DONALD Trump looks set to win the Republican Party's nomination to
run for president after winning the crucial New Hampshire primary.
The outspoken billionaire beat John Kasich, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio – handing his bid to win the White House a major boost.
Mr Trump finished second in last week's Iowa caucus after picking up 24.3 per cent of the vote, compared to Mr Cruz's 27.6 per cent.
But he has recovered from that setback following a week of fierce campaiging in the New England state.
Democratic Bernie Sanders beat former First Lady Hillary Clinton – making the veteran socialist a legitimate challenger for the party's nomination.
The 74-year-old's victory in New Hampshire means he is assured of a majority of the state's pledged delegates.
But Mrs Clinton remains ahead in the overall delegate count due to support from superdelegates – the party officials who can support the candidate of their choice.
